What are the qualifications for a CDL A driver to become a contractor for ‘Jai Jeffries’ at FedEx Custom Critical?
Safety takes priority at FedEx Custom Critical, and we're looking for the best professional driver’s. Our general minimum requirements are:
Unrestricted access to and from Canada
In order to contract with or drive for a contractor of FedEx Custom Critical, drivers must meet certain other eligibility requirements. These vary based on the size and type of vehicle: small straight truck, large straight truck, and tractor-trailer.
- Contract Driver (1099, Solo)
- Double Drop, Refrigerated and Dry Van
- OTR
- $1,250 - $1,500 gross total weekly avg. pay
- 2,000 - 3,000 avg. miles per week
- Dedicated
- No Driver Load/Unload
- No tarping
- 10 - 14 expected days out
- Get 1 day of home time for every 7 days worked
- Home at least 2 weekends per month
- 95% drop and hook
- 5% live load / unload
- Pets are not allowed
- Riders are not allowed
- Fleet size: 2 trucks
- Mostly automatic semi-trucks
- Can't take truck home.
- We mainly operate late model trucks
- Class A license without any of the following restrictions: (G) Night Driving or (K) Intrastate Only
- Must have (N) Tank Vehicles and (T) Doubles/Triples endorsements at time of hire
- 18 months OTR experience

Do you have an orientation program? Yes, we have found that contractors are more successful if they and their drivers visit FedEx Custom Critical headquarters to learn about the company before taking any loads. The program helps to familiarize them with the company's operations and customer commitment, as well as safety and regulatory information. Orientation is 4 days in Akron, Ohio. Where does FedEx Custom Critical operate in North America? We have a large customer base coast to coast. Our fleet picks up and delivers loads throughout the continuous United States and Canada.
