How Fast Carriers Respond to Dump Drivers (July 2026)
How long does a dump driver wait after applying before a carrier responds, if anyone responds at all? Here's the July 2026 benchmark: response rate, median speed, and how much of the response happens in the first 24 hours. Right now 10% of 1,147 applications got a genuine carrier response, the median response took 2 hours, and 74% of responses landed within 24 hours.

Why the first response usually wins
Dump hiring runs on the construction calendar, and candidates are frequently working somewhere else within days of applying. A posting that sits unanswered through the season's hiring window simply misses it.

The methodology behind the benchmark
The benchmark counts real carrier behaviour: for each application in the last 12 months, we look for the first carrier-initiated action (call, note, document or profile request, ATS export) and measure the hours from application to that action. Automated and system-generated events don't count as responses. Slices under 30 applications are withheld. Read the full methodology. Updated July 2026.
