Your posting competes on pay and lanes, but your response time competes for the same driver. Benchmarked across hopper bottom applications on Lanefinder (July 2026): response rate, median hours to first response, and the 24-hour share. Right now 36% of 493 applications got a genuine carrier response, the median response took 16 hours, and 64% of responses landed within 24 hours.

Why the first response usually wins

Hopper hiring peaks ahead of harvest, and the harvest does not wait. Applicants in the run-up weeks are deciding fast, so response speed effectively sets how much of the seasonal pool a carrier can actually reach.

How this benchmark is computed

The benchmark counts real carrier behaviour: for each application in the last 12 months, we look for the first carrier-initiated action (call, note, document or profile request, ATS export) and measure the hours from application to that action. Automated and system-generated events don't count as responses. Slices under 30 applications are withheld. Read the full methodology. Updated July 2026.
