About the job
Oil Field Job Descriptions: Double Boxes & Belly Dumps
• Double Box (Intermodal Proppant / Container) Driver:
o The Job: You will haul specialized, heavy-duty container boxes (such as SandBox Logistics or PropX systems) filled with hydraulic fracturing sand. Instead of blowing sand out pneumatically, you haul two structured boxes on a specialized chassis flatbed trailer directly to the frac pad.
o The Environment: This involves high-frequency, short-haul "slip-seat" or round-trip runs between regional sand plants and active well sites. You do minimal physical unloading labor, but you must master tight maneuvering on tight, crowded well pads.
• Belly Dump (Bottom Dump) Driver:
o The Job: You will haul bulk aggregates like crushed limestone, gravel, caliche, or dirt.
